Tonight is my regularly scheduled metalsmith class. I'm making a sterling silver chain for a sterling silver pendant I made two weeks ago. Progress is slow, but I should have a finished piece by the end of class tonight. [fingers crossed] If it turns out okay, I'll post a photo.
Updated 7/14/09 ... here's the finished piece. I'm pretty happy with it! And it only took 3 weeks to make it ;-)

My new toy at the gym is the Precor Crossramp. I've never used elliptical machines before, so while I'm sure it's been around for decades, it's new to me. I am digging the crossramp because I don't get bored and according to the digital readout, I'm burning a lot of calories. My scales have confirmed this fact, so I'm sold on this piece of equipment! Thursday is my first swimming lesson, and Friday I am taking the day off from work. Weather permitting, I'm heading up to Lake Lanier to splash around in some open water. I'm not going out deep or over my head, just dipping in to get over some of my anxiety.
This past Saturday I ran 8 miles along Peachtree and felt pretty good. My quads were a little sore on Sunday, but nothing major. And on Sunday Scott participated in the Hospitality Highway bike race. He biked 61 miles throughout Roswell, Sandy Springs and even a portion of Georgia 400. So excited for him, especially since he's only been cycling since March. He's a natural! There were close to 1200 cyclists. I'm definitely doing this next year. Here's a link to the pics from the AJC.
My next post will be Thursday after my swimming lesson. Til then, have a great week!
